Job description
Markage is looking for a Artworker to join our fully remote Canadian team. This role focuses on preparing accurate, production-ready artwork from approved creative direction. You will take approved layouts and design systems and make them technically complete across required formats, sizes, versions, and applications. The role depends on precision, consistency, file discipline, and careful checking. You will work with designers, senior artwork specialists, production teams, project managers, and client-service teams. Clear communication, reliable follow-through, and careful work are expected. AI-assisted tools may be used for version checking, document comparison, asset organization, content preparation, and production checklists. All AI-assisted work must be reviewed for accuracy, relevance, confidentiality, and fit before it is shared or used.
Essential duties
- Prepare production-ready artwork from approved design files and specifications.
- Adapt layouts across sizes, formats, versions, languages, or product variations.
- Maintain accurate typography, alignment, image quality, brand elements, and mandatory content.
- Apply revisions carefully and track versions so outdated files are not used.
- Package files, linked assets, fonts, and supporting materials for final handoff.
- Check technical specifications such as dimensions, resolution, colour setup, bleed, and file format.
- Maintain organized project folders, naming conventions, and artwork records.
- Flag unclear content, missing assets, or production risks before final delivery.
Essential requirements
- Practical artwork, production-design, or prepress experience.
- Strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud and production file preparation.
- Exceptional attention to detail, version control, and file accuracy.
- Holds a valid Dex Professional Specialist Certification (DEX-PSP) in the Arts, Media & Creative Production domain.
Preferred qualifications
- Packaging, print, retail, or multilingual artwork experience.
- Experience working with dielines, prepress requirements, or external production partners.
- Agency or high-volume production experience.
